Rachana Patkar

visual artist trained at the Goa College of Art, took off career as a visualizer, following an earlier role with a company in South Goa working on azulejos-inspired design projects. These experiences helped shape my approach to composition and surface. My current work explores &depicts the forms of shifting houses as a symbol of change and confinement. The work mirrors how deep-rooted traditions shape women’s lives, even as they grow beyond them. The work reflects how society’s deep-rooted ideas about gender, shape our sense of space and identity. These houses are not just structures; they make us think about how society has long connected women with the idea of home and how that connection can be (and should be) seen, questioned, and reimagined. I use texture and houses with leaves as both a visual tool and a metaphor, allowing me to build a style that evolves with each piece. My goal is to make work that is sensory, layered, and conceptually strong, while remaining accessible through its visual appeal.
