I have been working on my abstracts for over twenty five years now. Though I started off with oils, I slowly switched off to acrylics as it is not only a fast drying medium but also adheres to my temperament and urge to convey quickly. Large canvasses are often chosen as they do not restrict me to a confined area. It best suits my landscapes as it is my predominant subject matter. My extensive travel over the years, to quieter places, the woods, the greener land masses and seascapes keeps creeping in to my canvas at regular intervals. I don’t believe in colours that represent a particular area, nor do my canvasses focus on a particular location. My canvasses are a story of all that I observed, to say, every tiny detail, every travel experience, my own life style, the happiness and struggle that I encountered and encounter over the years. These multiple confrontations are expressed in terms of colour, textures and a network of details. My canvasses are not individual pieces. It connects with each other, through a strong bonding of emotions and love for nature. T.Athiveerapandian.
