The smell of the first rain on fresh soil is a wonderful gift from nature. While water itself is odorless, the captivating scent comes from various organic compounds released when raindrops hit the ground. Over the past 4 years, I have been researching this phenomenon while pursuing my passion for abstract painting. My art conveys a sense of landscape through vibrant colors and horizontal bands, evoking a familiar yet unfamiliar feeling. Living in Bangalore for the past 11 years, my connection to the land is reflected in the materials I use - oil paint made from earth's minerals. Embracing the physicality of my chosen medium, I delight in the messy and playful process of painting, creating textures that connect with different parts of the human experience. My large-scale canvases aim to relate to the human body's proportions, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in a rhythmic and earthly world.
